Another Update
March 30, 2024
Lot's of new updates! Flooring is complete both under the playground with speciality padded floor as well as new carpet in the seating and party area. Lighting has been updated and new walls and front counter have been completed as well.

Most exciting is that the playground structure is complete! There is lots of theming and graphics still to come, but the playground is complete and safe.
​
Still lots to do, but the progress is looking awesome. Closer to opening every day.
Week 6 Build Update
February 18, 2024
Construction has continued on the main play structure, with all netting, padding, and soft elements installed. The next steps include roof setting, toddler area, graphics, and lighting.

The final main element of the play structure will be the installation of our 4-foot fall certified padded flooring under the entire structure.
​
We are excited about the playground's progress. We are still working with a state safety consultant to ensure the facility meets all safety standards and can pass state inspections as soon as possible.
Week 3 Build Update
January 21, 2024
While we are still working on getting the building and safety issues figured out and the appropriate forms and plans submitted to the state, we have also continued any building that does not require permits. This includes getting spaces cleaned, continuing to build the playground structure, and getting arcade games loaded into the building.

Even though it may be a long road before we can open to the public, we are excited to see progress in what will be a fun and safe place for Shawnee families to have fun for years to come.
Week 2 Update
January 14, 2024
While the playground build continues, we received word from the OK state fire marshal's office that the current time to get life safety plans reviewed, inspections complete, and a certificate of occupancy issued could be between 3 and 6 months from the time of submission.

While we are working with a great safety consultant to make sure we are as safe and compliant as possible and that we meet all the state requirements, the backlog of fire safety applications was a surprise and not in our timeline plans. We will continue to work hard to be open for business as soon and as safe as possible.
Week 1 Build Update
January 6, 2024
It's been a busy week working on the steel structure! We're excited to see the bones going up and crews working hard to create a safe and engaging play area.
The longest part of the process we're told will be the netting and padding install, but lots of other items have to be installed as well, like padded flooring, comfy furniture, signage, graphics, lighting, sound treatment, arcade games, toddler area, nursing mother's space, quiet space, and the list goes on.

My name is Coy Cypert, and Play Space is my passion and hair-brained idea. With a background in things like event production, AV systems, management, entertainment, graphic design, and creative media, I'm working to create the finest indoor playground in the region. BUT as a family man with a wife and five growing sons, I also want to create a safe and fun space for area families to laugh and have fun. Play Space is my biggest adventure yet!

We officially signed a lease for a 9,000 square foot building at 14000 US-177 in Shawnee. We started moving playground materials into the space the very same day and are working to get up and running as soon as possible!
